Through team collaboration, combining decades of experience with residency trained specialists, we have the expertise to treat even the most complex cases. For individuals with binocular vision deficits, athletes who want to improve sports performance or patients with acquired brain injury, Advanced Vision Therapy provides individualized treatment programs, which include vision therapy, visual processing therapy, and Interactive Metronome therapy.

For nearly 30 years, patients from Boise, Meridian, Eagle, Nampa, Caldwell, Kuna, Mountain Home, Eastern Idaho, Oregon, Nevada, and Utah have come to the experts at Advanced Vision Therapy Center.

At Advanced Vision Therapy Center we have built a team of professional, licensed therapists who have dedicated their careers to helping each patient achieve individualized treatment goals. Since 1991, we have helped thousands of individuals, both children and adults, who struggled with unresolved vision problems – until they found us! Please meet Idaho's most trusted vision therapy team.

Dr. Ryan Johnson | Clinical Director

Idaho's only Residency-Trained Neuro-Optometrist

Ryan C. Johnson, OD, FAAO received his Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology from Boise State University and his Doctorate of Optometry from the Southern California College of Optometry. The following year, he was accepted into a residency program at University of California, Berkeley in the areas of Binocular Vision, Neuro-Optometry and Vision Therapy. Dr. Johnson is Idaho's first and only residency-trained optometrist in the areas of neuro-optometry, binocular vision and vision therapy.

His advanced training allows him to manage even the most complex cases of binocular vision dysfunction, post-trauma vision changes, and visual processing deficits. After completing his residency, Dr. Johnson joined Advanced Vision Therapy Center as Clinical Director and brings an in-depth understand of neuro-optometry to the Treasure Valley.

Dr. Johnson is one of a select few optometrists in Idaho to become a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry. The letters 'FAAO' (Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry) after an optometrist's name signifies that the doctor has met the rigorous qualifications for Fellowship and has been evaluated against the highest standards of professional competence (visit www.aaopt.org for more information). Fellowship with the American Academy of Optometry demonstrates a commitment to evidence-based practice and a commitment to lifelong learning for the advancement of patient care. This is why Fellows of the American Academy of Optometry have continued education requirements beyond the minimum requirement of the state's board of optometry.
